地理信息系统( GIS)完成对空间数据的四种基本功能:输人、存储、分析和输出。在这几个功能中,分析在当前的商业地理信息系统中作的最弱。而空间数据的分析和模拟功能是地理信息系统区别于其它信息系统的重要标志,地理信息系统将来的成功在很大程度上也取决于其是否能具有更强大的分析和模拟功能。
本文着重研究基于地理信息系统的模型库管理系统,试图通过建立模型库管理系统的方法弥补地理信息系统在模型分析方面的不足。模型库管理系统将目前应用于地理信息系统的绝大多数模型——经验模型——作为管理对象,并从一个可操作的角度将经验模型分为数学等式模型、条件模型和图象处理模型,对它们分别进行存储、编译、连结和运算。由于在模型库管理系统的设计中借鉴了当前常用于模型与地理信息系统结合的方法,在实现时采用了面向对象的方法和ODBC,使得模型库管理系统既可充分利用地理信息系统的强大的输入、输出及数据库管理等
功能,又不依赖于任何特定的地理信息系统。在模型库管理系统中建立模型的语法也非常简单,一般情况下将模型的自然形式输人即可。用户不需要有计算机编程的能力,也不必知道地理信息系统内部深层的数据结构,只需知道数据在地理信息系统中大体的组织方式,就可以利用模型库管理系统建立并运行自己的模型或模型系统。为了验证模型库管理系统的有效性,我们以黄家二岔小流域的土地评价和土地规划为例,利用模型库管理系统建立并运行了一系列土地适宜性评价和土地归划的模型,并取得了令人满意的结果。

ABSTRACT
Geographical Informaion System (GIS) is
considered to perform four basic functions on spatial data:
Input, Storage, Analysis and Output. Of these, analysis has
received least attention in commercial systems. In this ,
a Model Base Management System (MBMS) was built to ameliorate
this deficiency of GIS to some extent. MBMS takes the empirical
model, the largest group of application models, into consideration.
From a practicable point of view, models in MBMS were further
classified into three types: Mathematical Equation Model,
Conditional Model, and Image Processing Model. Each type of
them was provided a separate compiling, linking and calculating
module, though they are stored in the same database. MBMS
was designed absorb the merits of the current methods of coupling
models and GlS and was developed with object oriented method
and ODBC(Open Database Connectivity). So, MBMS not only can
exploit the powerful input, output and database management
functions of GIS, but also is independent of any specific
GIS. The grammar of models in MBMS is very simple. Generally,
the natural form of model can be input directly into MBMS.
It is not necessary for users to master a computer language
or understand the internal data structure of GIS to build
model whh MBMS. With only general knowledge of the organization
of data in GIS, user can make and run his model system. In
the latter part of this , a series of land evaluation
and land planning models were developed and run in MBMS, and
the satisfactory results demonstrated the efficacy of MBMS.
